Description

First Edition of The Gentle Tarot!

The Gentle Tarot is an indigenous-made, hand-drawn tarot deck filled with imagery influenced by life in remote Alaska. 10% of all proceeds are donated to ocean and climate change research.

This labor of love comprises of 79 hand drawn illustrations on 350 gsm matte laminate cards with matte gold siding and gold-stamped backs. These will arrive in a custom-designed tin box with a sliding lid and a very special limited edition sticker set. Instead of a paperback guidebook, the pocket tin comes with a PDF guidebook. The PDF guidebook is available via the QR code provided behind the Surprise Sticker sheet inside the tin.

The pocket deck includes TWO Lovers cards, a human and non-human option. The human option is an updated gender-neutral version.

This tarot deck had a whopping 622% achievement of it’s Kickstarter funding goal of $12,000. It raised $74,708 by 985 backers in 33 days. As always, a portion of proceeds are donated to environmental conservation and advocacy efforts. We are presently donating between 5-10% of our proceeds.

Mari in the Sky

Mariza uses art to inspire connection with our humanity and to rekindle curiosity and love for our planet. She specializes in combining hand drawn and hand painted watercolor with digital art, however her repertoire includes other mixed media. Connection to the natural world and being true to oneself are two prevalent themes she shares in her art. Most recently, she exhibited her work in the Auroville Hibiscus Art Festival in South India and a couple of her pieces were exhibited throughout the state of Alaska in the traveling art show, Salmon Shadows, produced by the Alaska Humanities Forum. She plans on creating children’s books influenced by her remote work in Alaska with wild salmon. For the past six years she has worked as a Fish and Wildlife Technician on the Alaskan peninsula and Kodiak and Unalaska Islands. Her art and book projects can be followed on Instagram under the artist name Mariinthesky.
