Mari in the Sky
Mariza uses art to inspire connection with our humanity and to rekindle curiosity and love for our planet. She specializes in combining hand drawn and hand painted watercolor with digital art, however her repertoire includes other mixed media. Connection to the natural world and being true to oneself are two prevalent themes she shares in her art. Most recently, she exhibited her work in the Auroville Hibiscus Art Festival in South India and a couple of her pieces were exhibited throughout the state of Alaska in the traveling art show, Salmon Shadows, produced by the Alaska Humanities Forum. She plans on creating children’s books influenced by her remote work in Alaska with wild salmon. For the past six years she has worked as a Fish and Wildlife Technician on the Alaskan peninsula and Kodiak and Unalaska Islands. Her art and book projects can be followed on Instagram under the artist name Mariinthesky.
