This beautiful calcite stone is found in the Yukon Mayo mining district. A rare color for the area, this particular calcite deposit is a vibrant turquoise blue green color.
Calcite is a very common and widespread mineral with highly variable forms and colors. Calcite is best recognized by its relatively low Mohs hardness (3) and high reactivity, even with weak acids like vinegar.
