Description
In Tlingit history, Raven plays an important role in creation. In these stories, Raven is often a character playing tricks on animals and people. Raven is often depicted as stealing things like the sun and the moon. In real life, Raven is often stealing things that are shiny.
In Raven's early days he was white - like the background of this scarf - before becoming black. The border design is made of Raven's footprints as well as nagoon berries. The nagoon berry is the most prized berry among the Tlingit. The name Nagoon means 'gold' or 'the best.'
The two Ravens in this design are titled, "We're Innocent." When you look closely you will see they are both different designs. You can only imagine what they are working on next!
Material: 100% Nylon
Dimensions: 13"x 59"
Artist: Ray Watkins, adopted Raven
