I think every person in Alaska is proud that the Iditarod race is run every year. It is such a fabulous celebration of the strength and endurance of the Alaskan men and women. A number of years ago when Susan Butcher won her 4th Iditarod race the popular saying was.
ALASKA WHERE MEN ARE MEN AND WOMEN WIN THE IDITAROD.
Really the men are just as proud of her accomplishment as the women are.
